Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program

DIA / BAASS · US · 2007 to 2012
CONFIRMED · OFFICIAL

DIA program funded at $22 million to investigate UAP, paranormal phenomena, and exotic propulsion. Contracted to Robert Bigelow's Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS). Focused research on Skinwalker Ranch and produced 38 technical reports on advanced aerospace threats.

AAWSAP was established through a DIA contract awarded to Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies in 2008. The program was significantly broader than its better-known successor AATIP, investigating not only aerial phenomena but also cattle mutilations, poltergeist activity, telepathy, and what researchers described as multi-dimensional intelligences. The program produced 38 technical reports on topics ranging from invisibility cloaking and warp drive to the physiological effects of UAP encounters on witnesses. These reports were authored by recognized experts in aerospace, physics, and medicine. Former DIA official Dr. James Lacatski ran the program and was reportedly so affected by an incident at Skinwalker Ranch that he became convinced the phenomena being studied were connected. The connection between AAWSAP and AATIP, and the degree to which UAP research was intertwined with broader paranormal investigation, remains a subject of debate among researchers.
