Alleged deep underground military base beneath the Archuleta Mesa near Dulce, New Mexico. Claimed by whistleblowers to house multiple levels of joint human-alien research, including genetic experiments and detained abductees. No physical evidence has been independently confirmed.
The Dulce Base theory originated primarily from the testimony of Paul Bennewitz, an Albuquerque businessman who claimed to intercept communications from the facility in the late 1970s. His claims were later amplified by Thomas Castello, who alleged to be a former security officer at the facility.
According to Castello, the base extends to seven underground levels, with the deepest levels housing alien beings and experimental subjects. Level 6 was allegedly called "Nightmare Hall" due to the nature of the experiments conducted there.
The AFOSI has been alleged to have fed disinformation to Bennewitz as part of a counterintelligence operation, which some researchers argue was intended to distract him from legitimate classified aircraft programs at nearby Kirtland AFB. Whether Dulce Base exists in any form remains unverified.
