A series of UAP reports filed through AARO's new safe reporting system in 2024 describe persistent and repeated encounters by active-duty Navy pilots over restricted airspace along the Eastern Seaboard.
The War Zone confirmed through multiple source interviews that the reports describe objects consistent in behavioral profile with those encountered by the USS Nimitz carrier strike group in 2004 and the USS Theodore Roosevelt in 2014 and 2015.
Common characteristics across the 2024 reports include: objects operating at altitudes between 20,000 and 80,000 feet without infrared signature of any known propulsion system; transmedium transitions from air to sea observed on radar and FLIR; objects that appeared stationary in high-wind environments before accelerating to hypersonic speeds in under a second.
One pilot, whose identity The War Zone agreed to protect, described flying training missions in which a given object appeared on three consecutive days at the same relative position, departed at speeds his aircraft's radar could not track, and reappeared the following morning.
